Server Tech Sentry Serial Power Tower The Sentry Serial Power Tower™ (PTSS) allows you to leverage existing infrastructure to add a remote power controller to your network. This remote power controller complements an existing input serial device (such as a console access server, KVM, terminal server or PC) and completes the approach for true remote management of light-out facility or an in-house data center. Amortize the investment of remote serial or console access products by integrating Sentry Remote Power Management. Sentry Serial Power Tower integrates to any device with a bi-directional serial port to allow Remote Power Management and Measurement features through the input serial device. Use the existing serial device’s enterprise management interface or network management software to access and control the PTSS. Each of the PTSS's power outlets can be individually managed (Power On/Off or Reboot). Alternatively, unused outlets can be powered-off to prevent unauthorized power consumption on remote circuits. Power-up Sequencing prevents a power in-rush from overloading the power circuit. If the event of a utility power loss, the receptacles power-on in four-second intervals, allowing each device to safely reboot. True RMS Input Current Monitoring of the load (in amps) on the PTSS can be viewed remotely by the network engineer via the interface and locally via a digital display by an installation engineer. This enables users to safely maximize the load on their existing power circuits. |
