03 – What do the LEDS on the front of the DSR indicate?

Answer

Power LEDS

-           The green LEDs illuminate when the DSR switch is turned on and is operating normally.

-           The green LEDs will blink slowly for several seconds when the DSR switch is first turned on.

-           The green LEDs will blink slowly and continuously if the DSR switch has experienced a Flash upgrade failure.

-           For DSR switch models that are equipped with dual power supplies, the green LEDs will blink quickly if one of the power supplies fails or is not connected, and will continue to blink as long as the failure persists.

-           When the DSR switch is turned off, the green LEDs will not be illuminated.

Ethernet connection LEDS

-           The green LED, labeled Link, illuminates when a valid connection to the network is established at the maximum supported rate and blinks when there is activity on the port.

-           The amber LED illuminates when you are communicating at a slower rate when using an Ethernet connection.

-           If neither LED is illuminated, connection speed is at a rate of 10 Mbps.

Target device status LEDS

-           A green LED illuminates when the attached target device has power.

-           An amber LED illuminates when that port is selected and in use.

-           The LEDs blink during a firmware upgrade.
