Sales & Support Engineer
In this position, you will be wearing 3 main hats: Sales (pre-sales) Engineer, Tech Support (post-sales), Professional Services Engineer
Sales engineer:
- Work closely with customers and account managers during the pre-sales process to identify and analyze their technical and business needs
- Apply your knowledge to propose solutions
- Educate the customer on the benefits/value add of our solutions
- Create appropriate technical remote and on-site demos
- Collaborate with the sales team on solutions comparisons and customer proposals
- Research new solutions that would further deliver value to our customers
- Provide on-site and remote technical support
- Must have high level of phone etiquette, integrity and professionalism
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and provide resolution to customers
- Resourcefulness and thoroughness are key
- Document cases in Salesforce.com
Professional Services:
- Install and configure the Mirapath solutions: power strips, console servers, software management platforms
- Create written deliverables to customers
- Ensure that statement of work is accurate and deliverables meet the requirements
- 5+ years of related experience, with exposure and understanding of data center and lab infrastructure
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
- Proactive, eager to learn
- Strong sense of accountability, responsibility, and ownership
- Passionate about enterprise technology
- Ability to wear multiple hats
- Effectively interact with customers and vendors
- Time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to learn new concepts and technologies easily
- Ability to share technical knowledge with sales team and customers in appropriate and effective ways
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Very strong IT infrastructure knowledge. Networks, LAN/WAN operations, VPN, server support
- Fundamental knowledge of data center, lab or co-location infrastructure. Power (single phase, 3 phase, capacity calculations), cooling, airflow, cable management, fiber optics, copper, BMS systems
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP
- Linux experience 1- 2 years (scripting a plus)
- Experience and understanding of Active Directory, Radius, TACACS
- Experience and understanding enterprise switches, routers and firewalls
- Experience with virtual environments
